A WORD FROM OUR CHAIRMAN

Welcome to Leckhampton Rovers Football Club

As Chair of Trustees, I’m delighted to welcome you to our very special football club.

At Leckhampton Rovers, we take pride in our mission to inspire everyone to play and love sport. Our intention is to enable as many players as possible to play in the best environment possible for as long as possible. This means we prioritise inclusion, high quality coaching, care, compassion and respect.

Every player, coach and volunteer at Leckhampton Rovers matters to us. We want everyone to find fun and enjoyment in their sport, and to develop the passion for football that means so much to those of us who continue our involvement long after our knees, hips and ankles have waved the white flag.

For the past decade, we have been developing a ‘one club’ philosophy. Through this we ensure that all individuals teams adopt our values, share their knowledge and do their best to support the efforts of the wider organisation. We’re making great progress – we now have amazing facilities at Burrow’s Field and we are very proud of our unique Coach Education programme which we run in association with eCAN.

The club has grown so significantly in this period that we have become a registered charity. A Board of Trustees is responsible for the oversight of this operation. I chair that group but I’m also still involved as a coach – you will see me at The Park Campus on Saturday mornings doing my best to keep up with the Under 7s. I still enjoy this despite being on my third ‘tour of duty’ – previously I managed two teams all the way through from U6s to U18s.

Leckhampton Rovers relies on the efforts of over 150 volunteers. It’s an incredible voluntary effort. So we do ask that you remember this at moments of stress or pressure – we all do this for love, not money – please be kind in all of your interactions with players, coaches and supporters.

Good luck on your journey with our wonderful club!
