F.A.Q's. - ( frequently asked questions )
- Question: Why is it that I sometimes can not move a player, line etc item?
- Answer: This can happen for two reasons:-
- 1st, that the functionality shadow of the previously positioned item is so close to the new one that it blocks your mouse from accessing the new items functionality shadow. All you need to do is move the blocking item, adjust the new item and reset the one moved.
- 2nd, sometimes your computer system needs time to catch up with the movement and positioning of all the items being placed in the plan and will either slow down or stop movement until it catches up.
- Question: I sometime find it difficult to delete items from the page.
- Answer: To remove lines, cones, figures etc from the 'build page' simply click on the item ( make sure you click on the line with the dashed lines and not one of the gaps) and drag the item to the red zone at the bottom of the page and click on the little bin in the middle. the symbol will be permenantly deleted.
- Question: I printed my session plan but did not save it before closing the session, now I can't find it in my account files?
- Answer: Unfortunately it is gone! After printing, writing notes or adjusting items on the "build page" you need to save your work by pressing the save button. There are two save buttons available; The 1st is on the main "build page" top right under the printer icon. This needs to be clicked to save the file at the end of your plan building session. The 2nd is at the top of the "notes" page, pressing this saves your notes and plan. If you make changes to the plan after exiting the note and print page you will need to save again using the save button on "build page". You will know when you plan has saved when the screen goes dark grey and white text appears in the centre of the grey screen saying "your session has been saved".
- Question: I can't get out of the notes page?
- Answer: to exit the note pages, click the small 'x' in the top right hand corner.
- Question: I have typed notes into the notes box but the text is so big I can not get it all in and I don't like the font?
- Answer: Finish typing your text into the text box and then highlight it all, go to the text formatting box's on the tool bar and click on the dropdown menus, choose a new font and size from there and watch the text shrink down for you ( Font sizes 10 or 12 and Font types Verdana or Arial are most commonly used ).
- Question: I can not get the bullet or indent numbering to work?
- Answer: Type the list you want indenting / numbering first, highlight them all and then click on the required bullet point icon on the tool bar. the list will automatically bullet point.
- Question: When I place a player or cone the functionality shadow dissapears and I can not get it back to size or rotate the item?
- Answer: When you place an item onto the build page, simply release the mouse button, move the curser off the item a short way, when you return back to the item its functionality shadow will be active again.
- Question: I placed an arrow in the wrong position and need to move it?
- Answer: The arrows are all moveable. However some are more moveable than others:-
- "Straight" and "Dashed straight" arrows can be moved as a whole in any direction, simply place the curser over the line until a black cross appears, hold down the left mouse button and drag it to reposition it. You can also move the straight line end points, the blunt start point and the end "arrow head" point. To do this you move the curser over the required end of the arrow until a small black line appears, hold down the left mouse button and move the end to its new position, release mouse button to set.
- "Curved", "Dashed Curved", Freehand" and "Dashed Freehand" lines can me moved as a hole by holding the curser over the line until a black cross appears, hold down the left mouse button and drag away to new position. You can not move the start or end points of these arrow.
- Question: I am having trouble making the lines work?
- Answer: Each line starts and stops in a different way:-
- All lines are activated by either clicking on an arrow icon or on the little multicoloured button next to it and choosing the arrows colour. When activated all lines have a small black cross curser to help you with initial placement. place the cross where you want the line to begin and left click the mouse.
- Straight lines start with a sigle click and end on the second click of the mouse.
- Curved lines start with a single click, each subsequent click helps them change direction and curve. To finish a curved line you need to double click quickly
- Freehand lines, start with a single left mouse click that is held down while the line is drawn, to end the freehand line and place the arrow head you simply release the mouse button.
- Question: How do I print my plans after they have been made?
- Answers: When you have completed your plan and added your notes all you have to do is click on the print icon at the top of the page. This will open your printer control panel and allow you make any changes - colours, black & white, good quality, fast draft, increase left margin, right margin etc before you press print to print your plan.
- Question: How do I print the plans I have purchased from the store as there is no print icon available.
- Answer: This depends on what level of access you have to the site:-
- Registerd users ( see top of page for details ) - When you purchase an item from the store and have made your payment it will download automatically as a PDF file to your computer. You can then save it to a personal file on your desk top to be printed from their when you want it.
- Annual Members ( see top of page for details ) - When you click on the ( ! ) icon above and to the right of the sample you are wanting on the screen. The PDF file downloads automatically to your PC, where it can be filed in a personal file or printed immediately.
- Question: Why use players instead of expanding the cones to represent players when creating a plan
- Answer: If you want to make a quick plan then setting cones as multiple players works ok, But with a player you have lots more options e.g. you can position them to face the direction of play, show body position required when approaching or controlling the ball or when defending - i.e. turning the player inside towards support or outside away from the goal etc. cones are good, but using players makes you think that little bit more about your plan and improve the planning process.
